Eugene Gordon Lee, also known as "Gene" or "Mr. Olympia", was an American bodybuilder who was born on July 5, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois. He began training in bodybuilding in the 1950s and went on to become a prominent figure in the sport during the 1960s and 1970s.
Gene Lee is best known for his impressive physique and his success in bodybuilding competitions. He won the title of Mr. Illinois in 1960, Mr. America in 1961, and Mr. Universe in 1961. He also competed in the Mr. Olympia competition, finishing in the top ten in 1965 and 1966.
In addition to his bodybuilding career, Gene Lee was also a successful businessman, owning and operating a chain of health and fitness clubs in the Chicago area. He was dedicated to promoting health and fitness and was well-respected in the bodybuilding community.
